Round cut
Fifty-seven facets cut to a tolerance nothing else is held to.
The round brilliant is the only shape with an agreed cut grade, which is why it is the benchmark every other price is quoted against. It loses the most rough in cutting, so it costs the most per carat — and returns the most light.

What we guarantee
- Size
- At least 5.00 ct. Up to 5.50 ct. Never less.
- Clarity
- VS1 or better. Often better.
- Color
- D to F. Often D.
- Cut
- The cut you chose, graded Excellent or above.
- Report
- IGI or GIA, shipped with the stone.
We move enough volume that we will not pretend to know which stone in the parcel becomes yours. What we will do is put a floor under every part of it and let the variance run in your favor — the weight, the clarity and the color can come in above what you paid for, and regularly do.
For example
You order 5.00 ct · VS1 · F.
You might receive 5.50 ct · VVS1 · D.
Same price either way.
What VS1 and D–F actually mean
- VS1
- Very slightly included. Minor inclusions, hard to locate even under a loupe.
- Color D
- Absolutely colorless. The top of the scale, and mostly bought for that fact.
- Color E
- Colorless. Distinguishable from D only by a grader with comparison stones.
- Color F
- Colorless. The last grade before faint warmth appears under laboratory light.

Buying a round
The round brilliant is the only shape with an agreed cut grade, which is why it is the benchmark every other price is quoted against. It loses the most rough in cutting, so it costs the most per carat — and returns the most light.
Proportion to expect: 1.00 — a round should measure the same in both directions. We cut to the middle of that range, so a round from us looks like the shape you pictured rather than a stretched version of it.
Every round is laboratory grown, graded by IGI or GIA, and shipped with its report. If the stone that arrives is not the one you want, request a return authorization within 30 days.
